網頁Abstract. The economic importance of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) is increasing due to their potential use in the biocontrol of insect pests. In India, the occurrence of Heterorhabditis bacteriophora from Tamil Nadu, Heterorhabditis indica from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and Steinernema thermophilum from New Delhi have been reported. 網頁A dose of 200 IJs of S. thermophilum caused ovicidal activity up to 84% when exposing 50 and 100 eggs of H. armigera and S. litura to the nematode, respectively. The finding of susceptibility in lepidopteran eggs to EPNs is unique and may offer new potential for pest control approaches.
